Dental implant dentures.

Yesterday we discussed the advantages of implant bridge units and briefly I mentioned the adaptation of dental implants used to hold an entire denture arch. These special implants have clip attached which correspond to a hook like system in the denture. This simple system allows dentures to be clipped in and out for cleaning, but is strong enough to hold the denture in place.

If teeth were removed many years ago then it is not always possible to place implants. However with implant dentures, the implants are often fixed at the front lower jaw, where often there are better bone levels.

If you require a complete smile make over, and want dental implants for an entire arch i.e. 12 teeth. It is often recommended that six dental implants would be placed and then a twelve tooth dental implant bridge made to span the entire arch. This would be a permanent solution.
